Texas Color with Smart Phone

This year Texas has a lot of color. Here is one I captured yesterday with my cell phone and a little help from a Adobe Photoshop Plug called Topaz. I had a good camera with me without a memory card. I blame the confusion on being 70! :-)

Our blessings in colors are all around Texas this year. I understand that Lost Plains State Park is a great place near Bastrop is a great place to catch Texas Color.

Whiskey Cake Restaurant

If you are looking for a new and pleasing dining experience you might try the new Whiskey Cake Restaurant in Plano. We celebrated Rob Donoho’s (Son in Law – Pictured) birthday there and quite an experience it was. Great food and service with an emphasis on organic produce from their own gardens and local farms.

The Waxahachie Gingerbread Trails Festival Arts and Craft Show was a great show. We enjoyed meeting all of you that stopped by and met us. Many of you purchased images to adorn your home and office.

The Parker County Peach Festival in beautiful downtown Weatherford Texas on July 9th was super hot but lots of fun.

The Peach ice cream and Peach Cobbler was to die for and there was plenty more great cooking too.
Our next show is October 8th 2011 at the Robson Ranch Women’s Club Holiday Market.

River City Grille – Marble Falls, TX

The River City Grill is one of our favorite places to eat and relax. We can eat outside in one of their patios over looking beautiful Lake Marble Falls. Inside, the River City Grille’s rustic atmosphere brings back pleasant memories of yesteryear.

After a dinner of steak, seafood or amazing burgers, you must try their signature warm carrot cake! You will go back for more!

For Photographers there are many scenic areas around such as view of Lake Buchanan and under the bridge in Hwy 121 so don’t forget your camera.

Find additional attractions on the Mable Falls Chamber site at http://marblefalls.org/attractions.

Reflections in Photography

I’m really attracted to reflections wherever they can be found. Lakes, Rivers, Pools, Shiny Metal Objects, Window, Car Finishes and any object that reflects interesting images is fair game for an interesting photo. Here are a few of ours to whet your appetite. Get out your camera, a great reflection may be just around the corner.

New Years 2011 in and around San Antonio, TX

A San Antonio Texas New Years!

On New Years Eve day 2010 we spent the day taking pictures off of Missions Road of the beautiful Historic Missions near San Antonio. Particularly early in the morning the sky was right for picture taking. While the light was not to our liking later in the day we continued to enjoy the time taking pictures and exploring the grounds.

On New Years Eve we found the Long Horn Steak House and enjoyed a sizzling fillet topped with a cream crab topping and veggies. The tender fillet was one of the  best I’ve ever savored.

Ringing in 2011 we experienced breakfast at Mi Tierra in the old Farmer Market area of San Antonio. Oh my, their Huevos Ranchero were out of this world. Mi Tierra went to great lengths to decorate lavishly for the Holiday Season and we were the benifactors. The ambiance was beautiful and most colorful. Every minute was fun and the service was super as well as entertaining. The aroma of Mi Tierra’s pastry department pulled us near. We chose several tasty samples to take to our friends home in Canyon Lake. Needless to say we all enjoyed the pastries and devoured the delicacies in no time!

Sunday morning we had brunch at Huisache Grill & Wine Bar in New Braunfels. If you haven’t been to Huisache you must go ASAP. It’s one of our favorite treats! Huisache will fill your tummy with glorious food while your eyes will take in the wonderful ambiance of art and color. I’d call the cuisine SouthWestern America. You gotta go there!

All good times involve fellowship and Norma (A Family Friend, kinda Relative and super Artist) provided us with the best company and served as a most gracious hostess!

If you haven’t been to the San Antonio area lately, do NOT let the grass grow under your feet.

Uptown Blanco Restaurant in Blanco Texas?

Great Food, Arts and More will await you in Blanco Texas

Blanco is located about 45 Miles North of San Antonio on Hwy 281 and is often called the Gateway to the Central Texas Hill Country!

We found a wonderful dining experience at the Uptown Blanco Restaurant. http://www.uptownblanco.com/restaurant.html We feasted on their wonderful Sunday Brunch and were delighted by cordial and attentive service. The atmosphere surrounded us in beauty and history. Before becoming a restaurant this amazing facility was a theater. Today you will find the courtyard to be an historic  jail, an Art Center and much more.

There are plenty of photo ops for those who enjoy photography.   We have included a few pics of our own.

Jazzmo’s in Oklahoma City – Brick Town

Did you know that Oklahoma City now has it’s own River Walk much like San Antonio. In fact there are amazing places to eat. A Standout Restaurant to go is Jazzmoz‘s.  The menu is very Cajun and wonderful. We can’t send you any food to taste but we can share a few pics with you.
